Action Bars

Action Bars are named, freely placeable bars of action cells. Unlike the single counter bar, you can have any number of action bars open at once, each with its own name, layout, and set of cells. They replace the old spell bar system and are the recommended replacement for the counter bar.

  • Top bar -> More -> Action Bars -> Add action bar, then type a name.
  • Or convert an existing counter bar: Options -> Counters -> Convert to Action Bar (this carries over the counter bar’s layout, every cell and its hotkeys, then disables the counter bar so only the action bar remains).

Each cell can hold an action or act as a plain item counter. Right-click a cell to set what it does:

  • Spell — cast a spell.
  • Macro — run one of your macros (Set Macro).
  • Ability — use your weapon’s Primary or Secondary ability (Set Ability).
  • Skill — use a skill (Set Skill).
  • Script — toggle a Legion script on/off (Set Script).
  • Dress agent — trigger Dress or Undress for a dress-agent configuration (Set dress agent).
  • Clear cell — empty the cell.

Cells without an icon (scripts, skills, and graphic-less macros) show an abbreviated text label instead, and running script cells are tinted green like the old spell bar.

The cell’s Options submenu also has Set hotkey, Set Cell Color, and toggles for display hotkeys, disable item scaling, disable spell/ability icon scaling, abbreviated values, highlight items on use, and highlight red when amount is low.

Right-click the bar (its background) for the bar menu:

  • Size -> Add row / Add column / Remove row / Remove column
  • Size -> Set Cell Size (type an exact cell size, 30-80)
  • Size -> Set Rows / Set Columns (type an exact count, 1-30)
  • Rename action bar
  • Delete action bar

Changing the column count keeps every cell in its visual position (cells below the first row no longer slide to a new slot), and their hotkey bindings follow them.

Each cell supports its own hotkey, assigned from the cell’s Options -> Set hotkey entry. Cell hotkeys participate in the centralized Hotkeys system under the Bar category, labeled <bar name>: <cell number>.

Action bars are saved through the standard gump XML (gumps.xml) alongside your other saved windows, so their name, position, layout, cells, and hotkeys persist automatically. Use Options -> Counters -> Disable item scaling / Disable spell/ability icon scaling to control icon scaling across bars.
