Login & Character Select
Section titled “Login & Character Select”TazUO reworks the login flow with a cleaner layout and a few quality-of-life options. For the right-click account history on the login page, see Account Selector.
Reorganized login gump
Section titled “Reorganized login gump”The login screen has been reorganized and now includes an Options button that gives you centralized access to client settings and community links right from the login screen — no need to log in first to change settings. This opens the same reusable options/settings window used in-game (Edit settings).
The music toggle on the login screen now stops (or starts) the login music live, so toggling it off silences the login screen immediately. Login music is independent of the in-game music toggle — turning off regular music in-game does not silence login music, and vice versa.
Skip server select
Section titled “Skip server select”Enable Skip Server Selection to automatically select the server when only a single
server is available, so you go straight from login to character select. This can also be
enabled with the -skipserverselect
command-line argument.
Character selection styles
Section titled “Character selection styles”TazUO offers two character-selection screens, and you can switch between them live with
a toggle button on the selection screen. Your choice is remembered (stored in the global
UseCampfireCharacterSelect setting).
Classic
Section titled “Classic”The standard vertical list of characters.
Campfire (Diablo-style)
Section titled “Campfire (Diablo-style)”An alternative screen where your characters’ rendered paperdolls are arranged in an arc around a central campfire (up to 7 characters, with adaptive sizing).
- Click a character to select it.
- Double-click a character to log in.
- Arrow keys cycle the selection; Enter logs into the selected character (defaults to your last-played character).
- Keyboard and controller navigation are supported on both styles.
Randomize appearance
Section titled “Randomize appearance”During character creation, the appearance step has a Randomize button that picks random hair and facial hair styles plus random colors for skin, shirt, pants, hair, and beard — while keeping your currently selected race and gender.
Remembering passwords
Section titled “Remembering passwords”When the login page’s Save Account option is enabled, your password is saved
encrypted per account/server under %APPDATA%/TazUO/<server>/<account>/account.password.
Selecting an account from the login page’s right-click account history fills in both the
account name and its saved password (the history is filled with whatever accounts are in
your Data/Profiles folder). See Account Selector.
