Grid Containers

The main reason for this version of ClassicUO!

All grid containers are resizable, just grab the blue icon in the bottom right and pull it!

All grid containers are searchable, including anything in the item name or properties!

Two different search modes are available in Options>Containers>Grid Containers
-Highlight will put a yellow border around the items matching your query
-Only show will hide all other items, only showing the ones you searched for

Grid containers can be anchored to each other, world map, and the [[Journal|Journal]] window!

You can enable or disable this in Options>Containers>Grid Containers

You can customize many of the visual aspects of grid containers:

  • Grid item border hue
  • Grid background color
  • Opacity for both of those
  • Select different gump styles

All via the options Options>Containers>Grid Containers

You can scale the size of the grids and/or items if you want them smaller or larger in Options>Containers>Grid Containers

Containers can be shown as a traditional Grid or as a List. Set the global default view (Grid/List) in Options>Containers>Grid Containers, and override it per container from the container’s right-click context menu (Default / Grid / List).

List rows show the item icon and name, and keep all the grid features: search highlighting, lock/auto-loot highlighting, tooltips, drag & drop, targeting, quick-loot, and multi-item move.

An optional setting highlights items that are hard to see against the grid background (low contrast). You can choose the highlight style — Border, Spotlight, or Full (a full-cell color wash) — in Options>Containers>Grid Containers.

Container options were reworked into a new General tab (Options>Containers>General, the first sub-tab). It has two dropdowns:

  • Container StyleGrid or Original. Replaces the old “Enable grid containers” checkbox.
  • Corpse Container StyleGrid, Original, Old Grid Loot, or Old Grid Loot + Container — independent of the general Container Style above. “Old Grid Loot” opens the older, simpler grid-loot gump instead of a full grid container; “Old Grid Loot + Container” shows that gump alongside the normal container.

Existing “Enable grid containers” / “Original Style Grid Loot” preferences are migrated into these dropdowns automatically. The Default container view (Grid/List) setting now lives on the Options>Containers>Grid tab.

Bands group the items in a grid container into configurable, color-coded sections, so you can visually separate things like armor, weapons, reagents, and misc loot at a glance.

Open the editor from a grid container’s right-click context menu → Edit Grid Bands. Each band is a set of filters — item layers and/or item graphics (with optional hue) — plus an optional background color. The first band whose filters match an item wins; unmatched items are shown last. You can reorder, rename, and delete bands, and adjust the vertical gap between them (Band padding).

There are three independent band configurations, one per tab in the editor:

  • Corpses — bands applied to corpse containers.
  • Backpack — bands applied to your backpack.
  • Other — bands applied to every other container.

Each tab has an Enabled by default toggle, and any individual container can opt out via its right-click context menu → Disable Bands for This Container. Configurations are saved per character in grid_container_bands.json (first matching band wins).

The grid container sort menu has a Sort by Layer option, ordering items by their equipment layer (using graphic and hue as tiebreakers when layers match).

The grid container’s top/label section now accepts target cursors to select the container (bag) itself — matching how clicking an empty grid slot already worked.

Corpse grid containers now remember their own position, separate from regular containers. When you move a corpse’s grid container, its position is saved per profile and restored the next time you open a corpse — independent of where regular container grids are placed.
