Counter Bar
Counter bar
Section titled “Counter bar”ℹ️ v3.27.0
Counter bars in TazUO have the following features:
- Highlight items on use
- Show tooltips
- Assign spells(via right-click)
The counter bar is the original single counter layout. Action Bars are the newer, more flexible replacement — you can have any number of named bars, each with its own rows/columns. Convert the counter bar to an action bar at any time with
Options->Counters-> Convert to Action Bar (layout, cells, and hotkeys carry over).
Action slots
Section titled “Action slots”In addition to plain item counters, each counter bar cell can hold any action, just like an Action Bar slot. Right-click a cell to set what it does:
- Spell — cast a spell.
- Macro — run one of your macros (
Set Macro). - Ability — use your weapon’s Primary or Secondary ability (
Set Ability). - Skill — use a skill (
Set Skill). - Script — toggle a Legion script on/off
(
Set Script). - Dress agent — trigger Dress or Undress for any dress-agent configuration
belonging to the current character (
Set dress agent).
Cells without an icon (scripts, skills, and graphic-less macros) show an abbreviated
text label instead (e.g. PvP for a dress action), and running script cells are tinted
green like action bars.
Hotkeys & active highlighting
Section titled “Hotkeys & active highlighting”Action cells support per-cell hotkeys, assigned through the shared hotkey Set popup (right-click a cell → Set hotkey). Cell bindings participate in the centralized Hotkeys system. Additionally:
- Keybind labels — optionally show each cell’s bound hotkey as a small label
(
Options > Counters > Display hotkeys on counters, off by default). A cell with a bound hotkey also shows[ KEY ]as the first line of its tooltip, for both action slots and item counters, regardless of that option. - Active-action highlight — spell/ability cells tint red while the ability/toggle spell is active, matching action bars.
- Hotkey flash — pressing a cell’s hotkey briefly flashes the cell background before performing the action.
Item/icon scaling
Section titled “Item/icon scaling”By default counter bar cells scale their graphics to fill the cell. You can disable that
and draw them at native size under Options > Counters:
- Disable item scaling — draw item-counter graphics at their native art size.
- Disable spell/ability icon scaling — draw spell/ability gump icons at their native size.
