Nameplate Options

ℹ️ Required v3.11 or later

We have implemented a customizable advanced nameplate options system created by Tranq1, modified to fit TUO.

Nameplates have a full customization system. You can:

  • Choose from a set of preset styles (including Orion-style and World of Warcraft–style presets) directly in the nameplate settings.
  • Set a fixed width, height, and corner radius.
  • Pick a health-bar mode, including split resource bars.
  • Style the background color and opacity.
  • Enable an optional Word of Death icon overlay that appears on low-health mobiles.

The nameplate search field has a clear (X) button to wipe the text and reset the filter.

There is also a second negative search field (with its own clear button) that hides any nameplate matching its text — the opposite of the regular search. Both fields accept multiple terms separated by ; (OR’d together).

Both the search and negative search text are saved per nameplate profile — switching profiles, or logging out and back in, restores each profile’s own filters. Both fields are also editable from the nameplate profile editor.

Nameplates ship with selectable presets in the nameplate settings: Custom, Orion, several World of Warcraft looks (Blocky Bars, Clean Health, Blocky Cast, Red Name), and Legacy. Choosing a non-custom preset fills in the full nameplate look (width, height, corner radius, health-bar mode, colors, font, etc.).

You can also save your own presets: configure the nameplates the way you like, then save the current settings under a name. Saved presets are stored as JSON files in Data/NameplatePresets/ and are shared between characters; select one from the preset list to apply it. Names are unique (case-insensitive) and up to 60 characters.

A nameplate profile can be bound to a hotkey in the profile editor. Besides a regular key combination, modifier-only bindings (e.g. just Ctrl, or Ctrl+Shift) are supported — while held, that profile’s nameplates are shown, and they hide again on release. Only keyboard bindings can be used; mouse, wheel and controller captures are rejected with an error message since they could never trigger a nameplate profile.

You can start following a mobile by clicking its name plate while holding the follow modifier (the same binding as world-map/entity alt-click follow).
